According to La Lay Border Gate Customs Branch, previously, on 9th September 2018, during carrying out Customs procedures for the consignment of imported scrap, the Branch Customs officers realized suspicious signs and coordinated with La Lay Border Guard Station to use professional methods to determine violation.
Through the inspection, the forces detected that thousands of wooden sticks were hidden in the scrap paper consignment.
On 9th and 10th September 2018, the Customs inspected a vehicle and discovered 4,075 wooden sticks (suspected as Agar wood and Rose-Wood).
Also, on 11th September 2018, the Customs force continued to inspect the remaining vehicles.
