Automatic data processing machines must be imported under permission

On 15/10/2018, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 13/2018/TT-BTTTT regulating the list of imported information network safety products according to the license and the order, procedures and dossiers, import license information network security products.

Accordingly, when businesses enter automatic data processing machines and their functional blocks; magnetic readers or optical readers, data transmitters on data transmission media in encrypted form and data processing machines must be imported under the import license.

Also in the new circular, when enterprises are allowed to import information security products, they must submit dossiers of application for import permits to the Information Security Department. Within 2 working days after receiving the dossiers, the Information Safety Department shall conduct the inspection; Within 7 working days after receiving a valid dossier, the import permit shall be granted.

This Circular takes effect on December 1, 2018
