Penalty of up to VND 2 million if the animals are not declared

Recently, the Government issued Decree 90/2017/ND-CP on sanctioning administrative violations in veterinary field. Whereby:

- penalty up to 2 million VND for anyone who detects or knows an infected animal, shows signs of disease or dies due to an infectious disease but conceals, fails to declare or fails to report in time to a competent agency.

- For acts of throwing infected, dead animals and their products into the environment, the punishment will be increased to VND 6 million (currently the maximum fine is VND 3 million).

- Reducing the maximum penalty for acts of not vaccinating wild dogs to 800 thousand VND instead of the current level of 3 million VND.

- Supplement regulations on penalties for non-muddy behavior, no dog keeping or no manning when taking dogs to public places from 600 to 800 thousand VND.

Note, the above-mentioned fine levels for violations committed by individuals; with the same behavior, the penalty will be twice that for the organization.

Decree 90/2017/ND-CP takes effect from September 15, 2017.
