Increasing penalties for administrative violations on seafood processing
From November 1, 2013, the processing of aquatic species on the list of banned fishing will be fined up to 80 million VND for violating organizations; Previously, the maximum fine was only VND 20 million.
For organizations that commit acts of building illegal aquatic product processing establishments, they will be fined up to 140 million, and at the same time force the dismantling of the violation works.

Under the old rules, the fine for this behavior is only VND 30 million.

The penalties for new administrative violations in fisheries activities are stipulated in Decree 103/2013/ND-CP, replacing Decree 31/2010/ND-CP.

The maximum fine level for violations in fisheries activities under this new Decree will increase 5 times compared to the old regulations (up from 40 million to 200 million).
