New regulations penalize copyright infringement
In the middle of October, the Government issued Decree 131/2013 / ND-CP to sanction administrative violations of copyright and related rights.
Under the provisions of this Decree, sanctioning of infringement of copyrights will no longer be divided according to the value of goods.
 
The above-mentioned individual is only fined up to 35 million, and the copy of the infringing work or the destruction of the exhibit is removed, the fine for the organization with this behavior is 70 million respectively.
 
For acts of transporting and storing pirated goods, the new fine applied is also lower than before, specifically: only fine from 3 to 5 million VND with the act of transportation, a fine of 5 to 10 million VND with onion micro-storage.
 
Decree 131/2013 / ND-CP will take effect from December 15, 2013.
