This Decree provides for wrongful acts, forms and amounts of penalties, remedies for consequences resulting from violations, authority to give penalty notices and authority to impose administrative penalties in the realm of journalism and publishing.

For the purposes of this Decree, administrative violations that arise in the journalism and publishing area include:

a) Wrongful acts arising in the journalism area;

b) Wrongful acts in the publishing area;

c) Wrongful acts against reporting regulations.

This Decree shall apply to both domestic and overseas organizations or individuals that commit administrative violations in their journalism and publishing activities within the territory of Vietnam.

This Decree shall take effect from January 1, 2014.

The Government’s Decree No. 02/2011/ND-CP dated January 6, 2011 providing for penalties for administrative violations in the realm of journalism and publishing shall become defunct from the date of entry into force of this Decree.
