Piloting Food Safety Inspection in 09 provinces / cities under central authority
The Prime Minister has just issued Decision 47/2018/QD-TTg to pilot the inspection of food safety inspection in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh, Dong Nai and Gia Lai.
Accordingly, Chairmen of district and commune People's Committees have the authority to issue inspection decisions according to plans or unexpected inspections.

Unexpected inspections shall be conducted when detecting signs of violation of the legislation on food safety or requests for settlement of complaints and denunciations or at the request of superior state management agencies.

The inspection duration of the inspection team is stipulated as follows:

- The specialized inspection is decided by the Chairman of the district People's Committee for no more than 30 days; complicated cases may take longer, but not more than 45 days.

- The specialized inspection is decided by the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee for no more than 20 days; complicated cases may take longer, but not more than 30 days.

Pilot implementation time: 01 year (12 months); The time of starting the pilot implementation is after 6 months from the effective date of this Decision 47.

Decision 47/2018/QD-TTg takes effect from 10/01/2019.
