Regulation on management and use of weapons and support tools of the customs sector

According to this regulation, the General Department of Vietnam Customs specifies the management, use and support tools to serve the task of preventing and combating smuggling, illegal transport of goods and drugs across border gates, ensuring security border and national security.

The management and use of weapons and support tools shall comply with the Law on Management and use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools; Decree No. 79 specifying some articles and measures to implement the Law on Management and use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools.

The Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Department, the Anti-Smuggling and investigation force, and provincial, inter-provincial and municipal border-gate Customs are equipped with weapons and support tools to perform their tasks.

Military weapons (including handgun, submachine guns and bullets used for these guns); rudimentary weapons (including daggers, swords, spears, bayonets, scimitars, cudgels, knife, mace balls, bow and arrows, and darts…); Support tools (including electric guns, asphyxiant gases, poisons, anesthetics, lasers ...).

The security force is equipped with all kinds of support tools including electric batons, metal batons, rubber batons, armor, gloves.

Customs units are permitted to use weapons, support tools that have lost their usability and effects for display.

In case of necessity to equip military weapons outside the prescribed regulations, the units must report to the General Department of Vietnam Customs to consider and report to the competent level for decision.
