This Decision prescribes the electronic border-guard procedures for people, operators, people traveling on means, exit and entry means at international border gates and main border gates on land borders; Vietnamese vessels operating domestic routes to and from port border gates; issuing visas at border international border gates to be reached immediately and the port border gates managed by the Ministry of Defense (hereinafter referred to as carrying out electronic border clearance procedures at the border-gate visas).

Periods of implementing electronic border-guard procedures at land border gates

1. Stage 1

a) Implementation time: From the effective date of this Decision to the end of 2019;

b) Location of implementation: At international border gates: Mong Cai in Quang Ninh province, Huu Nghi in Lang Son and Cau Treo in Ha Tinh province, Cha Lo in Quang Binh and Moc Bai provinces in Tay Ninh province;

c) After the end of phase 1, the Ministry of Defense takes the lead in reviewing and drawing experiences to implement phase 2.

2. Stage 2

From 2020 and subsequent years, to implement at all international border gates and main border gates on land borders.

This decision is effective from June 1, 2019.
