Conditions of import of used machinery beyond the age allowed
On May 24, 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision 1337 / QD-BKHCN announcing new administrative procedures in the field of scientific and technological activities under the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Accordingly, used machinery and equipment with excess equipment age specified in Clause 1, Article 6 of Decision 18/2019 / QD-TTg may be allowed to be imported into Vietnam when meeting the conditions after:

- The remaining capacity or efficiency is still 85% or more of the design capacity or efficiency;

- The consumption of raw materials, materials and energy must not exceed 15% of the design.

Enterprises wishing to import the above-mentioned machinery and equipment shall submit one set of dossiers requesting the import to the Ministry of Science and Technology for consideration and settlement, including:

- A written request for permission to import used machinery and equipment (form No. 01 Decision 18/2019);

- Copy of the enterprise registration certificate stamped by the enterprise;

- An assessment certificate issued by an assessment organization appointed by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Procedures for allowing importation comply with the provisions of Decision 1337 / QD-BKHCN effective from June 15, 2019.
