Cases of termination of storage of plant variety samples

On December 27, 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Circular 26/2019 / TT-BNNPTNT regulating the storage of plant varieties; testing seed fields, taking samples of plant propagating materials; State inspection on quality of imported plant varieties.

Accordingly, the retention of plant variety samples will be terminated if organizations or individuals are not granted decisions on recognition of circulation of plant varieties, decisions on recognition for circulation of plant varieties or decisions on recognition for special circulation. canceled plant varieties. In addition, if the organization or individual fails to submit an additional retention form within 06 months from the date the organization stores the request form, the archiving form will be terminated. The Department of Crop Production announces the termination of saving samples on its web portal.

The keeping of a sample of a plant variety propagated by asexual method shall be kept at an organization or individual that has a variety registered for recognition for circulation or registration for recognition for special circulation. The minimum number of seedlings of specimens shall be kept in accordance with the National Standard for testing of distinctness, uniformity and stability of plant varieties.

The circular takes effect from February 10, 2020.
