There is no import quota on sugar originating from ASEAN countries
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular 23/2019 / TT-BCT regulating the non-application of import quota of sugar originating from ASEAN countries on November 13, 2019.
Accordingly, the import duty quota is not applied to sugar (HS code 1701) originating from ASEAN countries in accordance with current laws.
The amount of sugar imported from ASEAN countries is not included in the annual tariff quotas announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade according to the commitments of the World Trade Organization (WTO) applicable to WTO countries.
The import tax rates for sugar products originating from ASEAN countries comply with the Government's regulations.
This Circular takes effect from January 1, 2020.
