Guide the procedures for obtaining a permit to import used seagoing ships for dismantlement

On November 12, 2019, the Government issued Decree 82/2019 / ND-CP stipulating the import and demolition of used seagoing ships.
Specifically, enterprises importing used seagoing ships for demolition must be Vietnamese enterprises with 100% of their charter capital being held by Vietnamese organizations or individuals. Enterprises wishing to apply for used seaport import permits for dismantlement shall prepare an application including:

Firstly, a written request for a permit to import used seagoing ships for demolition (form 1 original).

Secondly, the decision to put the ship demolition establishment into operation (01 certified copy or 01 copy enclosed with the original for comparison).

Third, the decision of the enterprise on the purchase of used ship for demolition (01 certified copy or 01 copy enclosed with the original for comparison).

Vietnam Maritime Administration will receive and check the records. Within 3 working days after receiving a complete dossier as prescribed, Vietnam Maritime Administration shall appraise and report to the Ministry of Transport for consideration and decision. Within 02 working days from the receipt of the written request, the Ministry of Transport shall issue a license to import used seagoing ships for demolition. specify the reason.

This Decree takes effect from December 30, 2019.
