On March 26, 2021, the Prime Minister issued Decision 14/2021 / QD-TTg on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decision 53/2013 / QD-TTg dated September 13, 2013 of the Prime Minister. The Government on the temporary import, re-export, destruction and transfer of automobiles and motorbikes of the subjects enjoying privileges and immunities in Vietnam.

Accordingly, diplomatic officers may temporarily import duty-free import if they meet the following conditions: Having worked at diplomatic missions, consulates and representative offices of international organizations. The person headquartered in Vietnam is entitled to privileges and immunities for at least 18 months from the date the subject is issued identity cards by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; While working in Vietnam at least 12 months or more.

In addition, the management of tax-free temporarily imported cars of the subjects entitled to privileges and immunities in Vietnam has been sold, given, or donated to other organizations or individuals in Vietnam but not yet real. showing transfer procedures and being on the list of vehicles announced by the Ministry of Finance, specifically:

First, vehicles on the list certified by diplomatic missions, consulates and representative offices of international organizations based in Vietnam are no longer managed and used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. ;

Second, vehicles on the list of diplomatic missions where individuals enjoy work privileges and immunities confirm with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam that these individuals have finished their working term in Vietnam. Male and do not authorize the agency where it is in charge to transfer or re-export or destroy the vehicle.

This Decision takes effect from May 15, 2021.
