In Official Dispatch 1669/VPCP-VI dated March 17, 2022, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Head of the National Steering Committee for Anti-smuggling, Counterfeit Goods and Trade Fraud (National Steering Committee 389) requested the Ministry of Health to focus on guiding units to follow the Government's direction in Resolution 127/NQ-CP dated October 8, 2021, Resolution 12/NQ-CP dated January 30, 2022, and Document 65/TB-VPCP dated March 2, 2022 of the Government Office announcing the conclusion of the Head of the Steering Committee for Price Management on the strengthening of inspection to prevent abuse of the pandemic for price gouging for medical supplies and Covid-19 test kits; and proactively monitor price fluctuations of medical equipment serving pandemic control to manage and stabilize prices.

The Deputy Prime Minister asked the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministries of Finance, Industry and Trade, Public Security and National Defense to direct strengthening inspection, fight against trafficking, smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods, speculation and hoarding of goods, unreasonable and illegal price increases, to strictly control quality, stabilize prices and supply commodity groups such as biological products, medical supplies and equipment (including Covid-19 test kits and SpO2 meters) and medicine for prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in accordance with the Government's direction in adapting to the new situation.

The local Steering Committees 389 are required to focus on directing authorities to strengthen the understanding of the situation at all levels and areas, to control import and export, manufacture and trade in biological products, medical supplies and equipment and medicines for pandemic prevention; promptly detect and strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 to monitor the implementation and summarize the results and report to him.
