In the framework of the Mutual Recognition Agreement on Authorized Economic Operators (AEO MRA) between ASEAN countries, on October 7-8, 2025, Department of Viet Nam Customs organized a Validation Visit on AEOs in Ha Noi with the participation of Customs representatives of ASEAN member countries.
(The Deputy Manager of Post-clearance Audit Branch spoke at the meeting)
The joint validation marks an important step forward in the process of mutual recognition of AEOs with ASEAN countries, while promoting trade facilitation and ensuring supply chain security.
Organizing a joint validation visit on AEOs with ASEAN countries demonstrates Viet Nam's commitment to contributing to enhancing security, shortening customs clearance time and promoting intra-bloc trade, thereby enhancing the prestige and position of Viet Nam Customs in regional cooperation.
During the joint validation, ASEAN members listened to and discussed Viet Nam's AEO program, including the certification process, assessment criteria and risk management mechanism, and conducted on-site assessments at Toto Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (located in Ha Noi) and TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (located in Thai Nguyen).
Together with the joint efforts of ASEAN Customs, the simultaneous mutual recognition of AEOs by all ASEAN member countries will create motivation for enterprises, attract investment and enhance competitiveness within the bloc especially in the context of unpredictable and rapid fluctuations in global trade.
The implementation of AEO MRA with ASEAN members is very meaningful to Viet Nam Customs and will be a premise for Viet Nam to continue implementing mutual recognition agreements with the strategic trade partners, contributing to achieving national growth targets.
(The representative of Viet Nam Customs answered questions from ASEAN member countries on AEO assessment criteria for Viet Nam)
