In the meeting, the delegation of Viet Nam Customs highly appreciated the remarkable achievements of KCS in its comprehensive digital transformation, particularly in the implementation of the UNIPASS, which has enabled the full automation of customs procedures and process from declaration and document processing to clearance of goods. The system is also integrated with Big Data analytic and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, which helps to identify risks, enhance management capability, shorten clearance time, and facilitate trade.
With its world-wide recognized trademark, UNIPASS stands as a testament to the technological innovation and advanced management capacity of Korea Customs Service, ensuring the objectives of balancing trade facilitation and trade security.
In his remarks, Director General Nguyen Van Tho emphasized that Viet Nam Customs is accelerating its modernization and developing an information technology system for digital customs, with the goal of building a professional, modern customs service on par with developed countries, taking the lead in implementing the Digital Government, and advancing toward the digital customs model. Hence, Viet Nam Customs is always keen on studying and learning from international experiences and best practices, especially the technological applications of Korea Customs Service, which will serve as a valuable reference for Viet Nam Customs in its process of modernization and development of an advanced automated clearance system in the coming time.
Director General Nguyen Van Tho also expressed his hope that Viet Nam Customs and Korea Customs Service will continue to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in digital transformation and AI applications in customs management, thereby further deepening and enhancing the bilateral partnership between the two agencies.
