1	For CBU imported automobiles and motocycles: - Customs declaration; - Receipts of import duties and other taxes; - Import permit granted by provincial/city customs authority (if any); - Detailed list of frame and engine serial numbers certified by the customs authority where the procedures are performed (for the whole shipment).
2	For CKD imported automobiles and motocycles: - Customs declaration; - Receipts of import duties and other taxes; - Declaration of origin certified by the customs authority; - Detailed list of frame and engine serial numbers certified by the customs authority where the procedures are performed (for the whole shipment).

Process Steps

Step 1

Complete the Declaration of origin

The importer shall complete the Declaration of origin conforming to the criteria printed on the Declaration Form. The importer shall base on the Certificate of quality origin declaration forms for imported automobiles or motorcycles (for used vehicles) or Notice of exemption from inspection (for new vehicles) issued by the State competent agency in charge of quality inspection of export - import goods (Vietnam Register).

In case of CKD1 imported parts of automobile where the outer coating paint color is not defined, the importer shall clearly write "CKD1 import mode" on the Declaration of origin.

Step 2

Examine the declared details

The customs authority shall compare the declared details on the Declaration of origin against the results of inspection and certification made by the cargo checker and the whole dossier documents to decide on certification of the Declaration of origin.
