From August 18 to 21, 2026, in Quy Nhon, in the framework of the Passenger and Cargo Control Program (PCCP) implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Department of Viet Nam Customs (DVC) and Department of drug crime investigation of Ministry of Public Security jointly organized a training on customs operational practices for enforcement, seizure and crime scene investigation.

JOINT TRAINING ON CUSTOMS OPERATIONAL PRACTICES FOR ENFORCEMENT, SEIZURE AND CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

From August 18 to 21, 2026, in Quy Nhon, in the framework of the Passenger and Cargo Control Program (PCCP) implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Department of Viet Nam Customs (DVC) and Department of drug crime investigation of Ministry of Public Security jointly organized a training on customs operational practices for enforcement, seizure and crime scene investigation.

The purpose of the training is to enhance capabilities of police and customs officers in the control of passenger and cargo, strengthening skills in crime scene investigation, evidence collection and inter-agency coordination at borders

During the course, participants had the opportunity to review operational standard procedure for detecting, inspecting, and investigating crimes on trafficking of drug, cash and wildlife. After the training, strengths of SOP are identified and preserved, the weakness is recognized and improved through exercises and best practices.

Over the years, the partnership between Department of Viet Nam Customs and UNODC has achieved significant results through various workshop and training on capacity building. In addition to capacity building, UNODC has provided DVC with modern equipment for customs control and inspection, thereby DVC does better their duty on customs management, ensure the safety and the security of supply chain and trade facilitation. The training course reconfirms the UNODC’s commitment in the support of Department of Viet Nam Customs and Ministry of Public Security in the fight of transnational crime.
