On September 16, 2026, at the headquarters of the Customs Department, Deputy Director General Au Anh Tuan chaired a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Intel Corporation. Attendees included representatives from Customs Control and Supervision Sub- Department, the Post-clearance Audit Branch, and other relevant units within the Customs.

Intel Corporation is one of the U.S. leading technology Corporations with investment, manufacturing, and business operations in many countries all over the world, including Viet Nam. Over the years, the operations of major technology corporations like Intel have contributed to fostering the development of the high-tech sector, supply chains, and import-export activities in Viet Nam.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest regarding import-export activities and customs procedures. Intel representatives shared the corporation's operational plans in Viet Nam in the coming years and addressed issues arising during the execution of import-export-related procedures.

In a spirit of cooperation, representatives of the Customs Department discussed and provided updates on relevant customs regulations. They also affirmed the agency's commitment to reform, modernization, and procedural simplification—aiming to facilitate import-export activities, investment, and business operations for the business community while ensuring full compliance with legal regulations.

The Customs Department also highly appreciated Intel's proactive approach in maintaining communication and coordination with the Customs Department, thereby helping strengthen the customs-business partnership. Maintaining direct channels of communication with major enterprises and corporations enables the Customs Department to promptly identify practical challenges and obstacles, allowing for the refinement of management methods towards greater simplification.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue their communication and coordination. The Customs Department affirmed its commitment to supporting the business community including the U.S. enterprises investing, manufacturing, and operating in Viet Nam by promoting trade facilitation and ensuring a transparent, favorable import-export environment that complies with legal regulations.
