From 01/01/2020, production, assembly and import motorcycles, motorbikes must be labeled with energy labels

Required to label energy with motorcycles from 01/01/2020
On December 17, 2018, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 59/2018/TT-BGTVT guiding energy labeling for motorcycles, motorcycles manufactured, assembled and imported.
Accordingly, motorcycles and motorbikes manufactured, assembled and imported unused must publicly disclose fuel consumption and energy labeling information from 01/01/2020.

(The vehicle's energy label is the label that provides information regarding the type of fuel used, the fuel consumption of the vehicle).

Production and import establishments shall publicize fuel consumption information on the basis of reporting test results to the following testing requirements:

- 02-wheel motorcycles made according to the cycle of the Type I emission test are prescribed in QCVN 77: 2014 / BGTVT;

- Motorbikes (except for two-wheel motorcycles), motorbikes carried out according to the cycle of Type I emission tests are prescribed in QCVN 04: 2009 / BGTVT;

- In case the new type of vehicle has a structure and new technology, there is no regulation on testing according to the above 02 standards, then the fuel consumption according to the standards and regulations of UNECE, EC and EEC are tested.

Car manufacturers, assemblers and importers voluntarily carry out energy labeling before the effective date of Circular 59/2018/TT-BGTVT (January 1, 2020).
